CELEBRATION OF CONSTITUTION DAY AND CAMPAIGN ON CITIZENS’ DUTIES PRESENTATION OF THE UNION BUDGET 2020-21 AND THE ECONOMIC SURVEY 2019-20

            Cd’A attended the conference “70 Years of the Indian Constitution” organised by the Study Centre of Africa and Asia of the University of Los Andes (ULA) with support of the Embassy of India, Caracas on 28th February 2020 at the University of Los Andes.
2.         The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of the University, Dr Mary López, highlighted the extraordinary life of Mahatma Gandhi and how he achieved India’s Independence through peace and non-violence. She mentioned about the series of conferences on Mahatma Gandhi that the Study Centre of Africa and Asia has been organising during the past year to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Prof. Cármen Carrasquel, Director of the History School, briefed the attendees about the different accomplishments of the 21st Century India free chair in sharing the history and culture of India with the University’s professors and students.
3.         During his address, Cd'A informed the participants about the salient features of the Indian Constitution and provided insight on the Union Budget 2020-21 and the Economic Survey 2019-20. He emphasized how Mahatma Gandhi's life continues to inspire the people in Venezuela and around the world. He lauded the 21st Century India Free Chair in University of Los Andes for their efforts in spreading the Indian ancient and modern day knowledge amongst the University's faculty and scholars.
4.         Prof. Nelson García Pernía gave a lecture on the Indian Constitution and Secularism while Dr. Rafael Gustavo Miranda spoke on the Indian Democracy and its Budget 2020-21 and the Economic Survey 2019-20 to an audience of about 60 people.
5.         Cd’A gifted a CD and Pen Drive containing the collected works of Mahatma Gandhi to the Dean Dr Mary López and another to the Study Centre of Africa and Asia along with the book set “Bharat ek Parichay”.
