Remarks by Ambassador of India Shri Abhishek Singh after his meeting with His Excellency The Governor of Falcon Mr. Victor Jose Clark Boscan on 13 October 2020

REMARKS BY AMBASSADOR OF INDIA SHRI ABHISHEK SINGH AFTER HIS MEETING WITH HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR OF FALCON MR. VICTOR JOSE CLARK BOSCAN ON 13 OCTOBER 2020

 

        I am indeed privileged to visit the Falcon State of Venezuela today.  This visit happens during the challenging times of COVID-19 pandemic.  I am thankful to the Governor Mr. Victor Clark for receiving me today with warmth.

2.     During my meeting with his His Excellency the Governor, we discussed issues of mutual interest.  I recalled my earlier meetings with senior Ministers in Caracas including Executive Vice President H.E. Delcy Rodriguez regarding the cooperation in Venezuela’s fight against COVID-19.  I briefed His Excellency about our recent gift of 4 tonnes of medicines to Venezuela for use in COVID-19 treatment.

3.     Falcon State has historical significance and potential for both tourism and economic activities.  While the pandemic has retarded the economic growth of the State, it has not dented the spirit and enterprise of the people of Falcon. 

4.     I discussed with Governor ways to increase cooperation in the field of trade and commerce and also people to people contacts in the future.  We discussed the possibility of cultural exchanges once the situation permits.

5.     Finally, I conveyed our best wishes to the people of Falcon State of Venezuela and appreciation of their efforts in various walks of life during these unprecedented times.
