How to apply
- Register on the Global Passport Seva portal (mportal.passportindia.gov.in/gpsp), activate the account from the e-mail you receive and log in.
- Choose the correct service: Re-issue, Lost, Damaged or Fresh.
- Fill in every field. Write “Not applicable” where a field does not apply. Use your name exactly as in your latest Indian passport.
- Print the submitted form and sign it. Only the original printed form is accepted — not photocopies, scans or e-mailed copies.

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
A PCC is issued only after fresh police verification, which can take time — apply well in advance. Apply online, then submit the printed form with two photographs, a copy of your passport bio-data and visa pages, a letter stating the purpose, and a copy of address proof.
Emergency Certificate
Contact the Consular Section before applying. In genuine emergencies, help is available even on holidays; the Consular Officer will advise the fee.
